About
Hello, I'm Paul. Thank you for looking at my website.
A bit of (ancient) history. I'm a former senior staff photographer on several local papers, starting out on The Gateshead Post when I was 17, followed by The Sunderland and Washington Times. Then I was headhunted by The Newcastle Chronicle and Journal, where I spent 30 years covering pretty much everything from hard news to public relations, sport and business awards. They even sent me up in a biplane doing aerobatics!
Recently I saw the writing on the wall and took redundancy, and now I do all sorts of freelance work, all over North East England, and sometimes further afield. I live with Helen, my partner (of more years than she cares to remember) and our Siberian Huskies. When we're not out with the dogs, in my free time I enjoy landscape photography, and handily we live at the entrance to beautiful Weardale.
The landscapes and train pictures (and a few of the others) can be bought as prints or wall art - please fill in the contact page with the approximate size you would like for details. The files on this site are small for the purposes of security, and the finished images will obviously not include the copyright symbol.
